Origin Gymnastics Membership & Policy Info
Origin Gymnastics is regulated by
who provide various benefits to Origin Gymnastics and our members including personal accident insurance for our members and a robust suite of member welfare policies, safeguarding and support.
Non-members of Origin Gymnastics may take part in up to 3 taster sessions, after which they must join as members of Origin Gymnastics and become members of Gymnastics Ireland.
The Gymnastics Ireland membership year runs from 1st September to 31st August and an annual membership to Gymnastics Ireland will need to be purchased for each member of Origin Gymnastics.
Origin Gymnastics will collect this Gymnastics Ireland membership payment alongside the initial membership paid for the first class/es that the participant will take part in at our centre and will pass it on to Gymnastics Ireland.
At the start of each new Gymnastics Ireland membership year each current member’s membership needs to be renewed and a new annual membership will need to be paid.
The Gymnastics Ireland membership prices for the current membership year are €40 for recreational members and €30 for recreational members aged under 4 and these prices remain the same regardless of the date within the Gymnastics Ireland membership year that the participant becomes a member of Origin Gymnastics.
We have adopted all of Gymnastics Ireland’s membership and welfare policies which are linked on this page. We have also set some additional policies that are specific to our centre that are listed on this page.
Some of our services will also be available to non members (e.g. holiday camps, gymnastics sessions for schools, taster sessions). Origin Gymnastics applies the same policies and standards when a non member is participating within any of our services as those that apply when one of our members is participating.
Origin Gymnastics policies
1. Contact Information - Please ensure that your phone number and email address are up to date on your family account in iClassPro so that we can contact you in relation to any matters relating to your child’s participation.
2. Membership payments - All membership payments including Gymnastics Ireland membership need to be completed through iClassPro before the start of the class or activity that they relate to. In the case of recurring membership payments it is important to keep your payment details up to date as your child will not be able to participate in any activity that has not been paid for before it begins.
3. Parental Responsibility - During our regular pre-school and recreational gymnastics classes parents / guardians should stay within the leisure centre and close to the gymnastics hall for the duration of their child’s class. This is because the customer toilets are outside the gymnastics hall meaning that if your child needs to go to the toilet during their class then you will need to bring them there as our coaches will need to continue to coach the rest of the participants at this time.
4. Refunds and make-up classes - We do not offer refunds apart from in a situation where a participant gets injured while participating in one of our services.
We would refund any classes missed due to injury in this case once we receive a medical certificate from you. If a service is not able to run as planned we will do our best to provide a make-up service on a suitable date and will issue a refund if no makeup can be arranged (except in exceptional circumstances beyond our control - e.g. adverse weather conditions).
5. Attire - Participants should be wearing items of clothing that are suitable for gymnastics activities and that are not too baggy. E.g. Shorts / leggings / tracksuit bottoms, t-shirt, socks and a jumper at the start of the class on a colder day.
6. Long hair must be tied back in a tidy manner so that it is kept secure for the duration of the class. Bows or other large hair adornments should not be worn as these could cause discomfort during the activity. Jewellery must be removed by participants before entering the gymnastics hall.
We acknowledge that in some circumstances it may be impossible to remove a ring and / or piercing / s and if this is the case the ring must be sufficiently covered with protective tape and the piercings must be covered sufficiently so that any risk is eliminated. Newly pierced stud earrings must be covered with protective tape but must be removed as early as possible (normally after six weeks). We understand that some participants may have certain specific reasons for wearing jewellery (e.g. medical reasons) and we will do our best to accommodate participation in a positive manner. In the case that a significant risk to the participant, the coach or other participants is identified that there is no way to reduce satisfactorily, then within the bounds of reasonable safety the participant will not be able to take part in the session. In order to avoid any doubt any jewellery which is able to be removed must be removed.
7. No food may be consumed and no gum may be chewed in the gymnastics hall. Each participant for pre school and recreational gymnastics should bring a water bottle into the gymnastics hall with them that should be labelled and kept in water bottle box for their group. Only water should be drank in the gym (unless a specific medical need dictates otherwise) and it should not be drank on any of the pieces of gymnastics equipment.
8. Parents are not allowed in the gymnastics hall during non parent-accompanied classes and should not distract any participants or coaches during classes.
9. Cancellation of membership - If you would like to cancel a membership an email must be sent to us to notify us of this. Any membership payments already paid including the Gymnastics Ireland membership payment will not be refunded. If you want your child to rejoin Origin Gymnastics at a later point within the same Gymnastics Ireland membership year the Gymnastics Ireland membership fee for the year will not need to be paid again.
10. Parent accompanied classes - Parents / guardians should leave their shoes in the space provided before entering the gymnastics area. In a parent / guardian accompanied class that is a children’s class parents / guardians should not be going on the equipment or trying to perform any gymnastics skills.
11. Notification list - If the specific time, day and class you would like to sign your child up for is not available due to the class being full you can sign up for a notification list. An email will be sent out to all the parents who have signed up to a notification list for a specific class if a space becomes available. This space is not prioritised to any potential member and the first person to sign up their child for this space (from the notification list or someone who is not on the notification list but sees that the spot is available on iClassPro) will secure a place for their child in this class.
12. Parents should respect staff and all offensive language or aggression towards them will not be accepted within our centre. Any questions, complaints or concerns should be notified via email to info@origingymnastics.com or to our children’s officer or centre designated person with responsibility for child welfare.
13. Parents should not take any photography or film of regular centre activities or in the waiting area. Specific opportunities may be given to capture your children enjoying their gymnastics activities (e.g. specific opportunities may be made available at events we will run within our centre).
14. All children who have a medical condition that has been disclosed when they were registered as members of Origin Gymnastics must have a medical action plan provided and children who need to use an epipen or inhaler during their class must bring their necessary medicine to their class in order to be allowed to take part in the class.
